Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Botanical Garden: A Night of Light and Magic
The New York Botanical Garden transformed to a world of fantasy and fright in a special light show featuring The Nightmare Before Christmas, a classic film by Tim Burton. The show returns to the garden by popular demand until November 30. The light show brings Jack Skellington, Sally and other beloved characters to life through glowing sculptures and eerie projections. Visitors follow trails surrounded by color, music and a touch of two popular holidays. It’s perfect to get into the spirit of Halloween and Christmas along with loved ones.

This is the main entrance of the light show at the Botanical Garden. Visitors are greeted by the music from the film and everything is a glow.

There were so many different sized groups excitedly wandering around the park.

This is the first piece of the light show. Many-colored lights made the trees look magical.

Walking through this tunnel felt like entering the film.

Many families had little ones who enjoyed the show as much as the adults did. Some, like this little girl, came in costumes.

Deep red with a touch of blue, light fills the surrounding creating an eerie glow.

The mayor of Halloween Town is one of the first characters displayed with his rotating face (his good face).

Visitors interacted with bubbles in the show.

Easter Eggs lead the way to the Easter Bunny.

Sally and Dr. Finkelstein, a complex bond of science and emotion. The pots oozing smoke give it a realistic touch from the movie.

Jack Skellington’s first appearance in the light show, along with Zero.

The lights come with different designs that had people taking pictures and posing.

The Christmas tree, the brightest and colorful lights of the whole show.

A vibrant, large, illuminated geometric structure similar to a spider web.

Visitors wait their turn to take pictures with green glowing Oogie Boogie.

After a short wait, the mischief, Oogie Boogie, perfectly displayed.

A personal favorite, the naughty trio Lock, Shock and Barrel. As you get closer you could hear their mischievous laughter.

Lastly Jack makes a second appearance as Santa Claus. Many visitors wait in line to take pictures.
