Trump 2024 Rally at Madison Square Garden

By Deszure Thomas

Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump held a rally at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan October 27. The arena has a capacity of 19,500 seats, and more than 20,000 people were in attendance, including those who lingered in the overflow. Thousands of people were turned away upon MSG reaching capacity, and instead showed their support outside the rally.

There was a colorful series of guest speakers including controversial comedian, Tony Hinchcliffe, former mayor Rudy Giuliani, Vivek Ramaswamy, Dr. Phil, professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, Death Row Records Founder, Micheal Harris, and Elon Musk. People from neighboring boroughs and diverse walks of life also gathered.

Supporters made their way through the rally line. They were accompanied by local street vendors.

Supporters marching up and down the rally line, chanting “God Bless America” and “God bless the USA.” The crowd of attendees roared in cheers.

A Gen Z supporter wearing a quirky Trump hat, boisterously expressing his support while waiting in line. The crowd laughed at his gestures.

As supporters moved further up the line, there were abandoned lawn chairs, snacks, and beverages. The items were from attendees who sat in line overnight to ensure they were the first ones to be let in MSG. Locals said that some attendees were waiting as early as 3:00 AM.

Moments before entering MSG, the attendees crowded the doors to the event. They were let in group by group, periodically.

Beginning at 2:30, the rally got fuller every 30 minutes or so. The arena was filled to the brim, as 20,000 people were seated.

Conservative artist, Scott LoBaido is known for his professions of patriotism and paintings capturing “Old Glory.” He gave an energetic speech, describing his experience trying to break into the art industry. “The art world didn’t like me because I like God, girls, and guns, said LoBaido. “The art world didn’t like me because I refuse to succumb to the America-hating ‘isms’ of their agenda.”

David Rem gave a faith-filled message, sharing pleasantries about the Trump family, including Trump’s devotion to faith. “I think that President Trump in what he has experienced knows that Jesus Christ is King,” he said. After critiquing the Democratic party and Mayor Eric Adams, Rem then announced that he would be running for NYC mayor in the next election.

Vivek Ramaswamy, who was formerly running against Trump but became an avid supporter,  spoke on issues such as gender reassignment, illegal immigration, and the importance of the Black vote. He also addressed Gen Z voters, prompting them to “Be the generation that saves the country. You want to be a rebel at 18 years old, stand up on your college campus, and call yourself a conservative. Be proud of it. Say you want to get married, have kids, raise a family, and have a good job.”

Melania Trump gave a speech moments before Donald Trump was announced on stage. The crowd stood in and one audience member yelled “I love you.”

After six hours, Trump made his way on stage and was immediately met with shouts of support from the audience. In his speech, he highlighted issues such as the border crisis, the economy, and eliminating the threat of war, all of which have been key staples of his campaign trail.
