Nightmare Before Christmas

By Genesis Stanley

The Bronx’s very own Botanical Garden is welcoming families to the nightmarish light trail of the 1993 Disney classic Nightmare Before Christmas. The light trail is a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit. You will see all the bright colorful lights, the amazingly detailed statues, and also hear the fun music from the movie. The garden is hosting this event from September 27 to December 1, so go get tickets to see your favorite characters, such as Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero, and the creepy Oogie Boogie. So, remember, life’s no fun without a good scare!

The trail starts with this big glowing pumpkin, which is the symbol of Jack Skellington because he is the Pumpkin King!

Jack Skellington in his Pumpkin King form, which we see in the beginning of the movie during the This Is Halloween scene.

Meet the mayor of Halloween town who literally is two-faced.

“And they call him…SANDY CLAWS!!!” Here’s the big guy with a stomach full of jelly, who sees you when you’re sleeping, and knows when you’ve been bad or good.

A creepy cemetery that shines bright in this beautiful blue light and makes the trail all the worth while.

A dog is a man’s best friend! Here’s Zero, who is the cute-loyal companion of Jack.

One of Halloween’s iconic couples, Jack & Sally.

It’s Boogie’s boys! Halloweentown’s creepy trio of trick-or-treaters.

It isn’t Frosty the Snowman, but we a cooler version.

He’s the gambling Boogie Man who don’t play fair — it’s the iconic Mr. Oogie Boogie ladies and gents.
