The Skyzone Trampoline park in New Rochelle features freestyle bouncing, basketball, dodgeball, rock climbing, sky ladders, and a foam zone. Visitors can freestyle jump in the wall-to-wall trampolines. They can play basketball, dunking in SkySlam or blocking shots in SkyHoops. Or elevate the game of dodgeball. In SkyJoust, guests teeter on an exercise ball while battling opponents with foam beams. The winner emerges once all opponents have lost their balance and tumbled into a sea of foam blocks.
The Ninja Warrior Course is like many obstacle courses but with the comforting addition of a soft bouncy landing. SkyClimb is a vertical course where guests are secured by a harness. Aspiring gymnasts can try their luck on a balance beam.
A general admission ticket along with sky socks are required. An all-day general pass is around $55 while children ages 3-4 are $44. For shorter 90-minute sessions, those rates are around $30 and $25. There are also “Little Leaper” sessions, times set aside for children under 6, which are about $25.
In addition to being an entertaining activity, there are health benefits associated with trampoline jumping. “Customers have a good workout, especially the children, and they are always sweating and have a fun time with the family,” said a staff member. According to Very Well Fit, an award-winning resource about nutrition and fitness tips from industry experts, light bouncing enhances balance, agility, and coordination. The fitness experts also contend that trampoline jumping lifts spirits by making people smile as we catapult into the air as if we were flying.
Like with any physical activity, injuries may occur. This is the reason why Sky Zone requires all guests aged 18 and over to fill out a waiver before entry. If the guest is a minor, an adult must fill it out on their behalf. While filling out the online waiver, the guest must affirm that they understand the risks and hazards. After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the waiver also contains a checkmark asking the guest if they are healthy enough to participate in the trampoline park. This entails that they have not visited or closely contacted someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past three days, are willing to maintain social distance, and do not display symptoms of disease (sneezing, coughing, fever, malaise). After gaining entry after waiver submission, staff members continue to enforce safety rules. They permit one person to jump at a trampoline square and do not allow any form of horseplay.
The park is open from Monday to Thursday 9 AM to 9 PM. On Fridays, it is open from 9 AM to 12 PM and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Sundays it is closed.
