Women with Wings, an art series by Andrea Arroyo, was on view at both the Friendship Garden and Maggie’s Garden in Harlem.

The exhibition features a collection of artworks inspired by the women of New York, specifically Harlem.

Women with Wings is being presented by New York Restoration Project.

In Women with Wings, Arroyo connects local culture and history by connecting theexperiences of women past and present.

“Women in Movement”, a piece that features multiple silhouettes, is one of the works, being displayed on wheels that are hung from light posts inside the garden.

Each piece, produced in mixed media and repurposed materials, is assimilated within the plants, trees, and other natural elements of both gardens.

The exhibition includes portrayals of the historical and contemporary women who add vibrancy to Harlem.
