A Bronx man has gone missing leaving his family searching for answers.
Javier Horta, 34, was last seen March 25, 2016 around 11:45 pm at 1420 Noble Ave in the South Bronx.
Horta was returning to his friend’s house after he realized that he forgot his cell phone and wallet there. Horta never made it back to his friend’s house. Javier Horta is an information assistant at the New York Public Library on Eames Place.
“We have so little information. He’s out there with no ID and no cell phone,” said Hector Horta, Javier’s brother.
News of his disappearance has the community distraught. “I’m so sad about the news,” said an acquaintance Lisa Seye, 39, a home health aid. “I’m praying they find him. He’s warm, caring, and helpful. He’s a true friend, a leader in the community.”
Horta was last seen wearing black jeans, black hoodie, and black sneakers. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. Horta has long black hair with brown eyes, tattoos on his arms and a tattoo of Homer Simpson on his leg.
The Horta family is asking anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1800-577-TIPS (8477).
