During the month of March, BronxArtSpace is featuring a gallery of sneaker art called “Bronx Soles.” Artists Andre Trenier, Jason Shaw, Sean Paul Gallegos and Osjua Azarra Newton use sneakers manufactured over the last decade as their material.
Sean Paul Gallegos deconstructs the sneakers, transforming them into masks, insects, and intricate sculptures.
Andre Trenier paints very detailed images of faces and animals on his sneakers.
