Museum Educator – Michael Grillo

With a passion for promoting a rich American culture, Michael Grillo takes his job as a Museum Educator seriously. An expert on American History, he impersonates historical figures like George Washington, in order to better portray a important piece of history, at the Van Cortlandt House Museum.

He is involved in a tour that incorporates the culture of early America by showing a day in the life of a citizen in that time period. He would show what someone in that time would do around the house, what tools they would use for everyday tasks, and even how they would dress. The props they use help students interests in the culture of the past and allow for a much better learning experience.
